AFR & AFR Event Management have just concluded the planning and execution of the United States Air Force Public Affairs Professional Development Seminar, hosted by the Secretary of the Air Force/Public Affairs commander BrigGen Les Kodlick. Building on the Public Affairs vision – “Communication experts, vital to mission success” – this seminar provided a unique forum for education, training, and benchmarking with industry. It is also the only opportunity for the AF Public Affairs community to share information across the full spectrum of Public Affairs, ensuring we speak with one voice and a common objective. The seminar’s focus was on mission priorities and achieving the desired effect/impact for commanders, with an emphasis on training and best practices, both from within the Air Force and from industry experts.
AFR & AFR Event Management were the contracted meeting planners for this event, and we handled pre-event online registration, rooming lists for attendees, meal selection, and all aspects of coordinating the hotel meeting space. With General Sessions for 300 plus 5-10 breakouts per day, AFR Event Management was able to take a heavy load from the SAF/PA office who was putting on the event. Additionally, AFR Event Management provided personalized breakout session agendas, travel receipts, and all other required meeting materials.
The keynote speaker on opening day was the Secretary of the Air Force, the Honorable Michael Donley, and the week continued with terrific speakers (both from within the Air Force and the private sector). The banquet dinner was a semi-formal affair with Mr. Dan Clark as our speaker and a rousing performance by the The Air Force Band’s world famous Singing Sergeants! We also had a high-energy performance by “Max Impact” The Air Force Band’s premier rock group.
